Hutchinson is a city in McLeod County Minnesota along the South Fork of the Crow River. Hutchinson Minnesota is centrally located, approximately a one hour drive from the Twin Cities, St. Cloud and Mankato. Minnesota State Highways 7, 15, and 22 are three of the main routes in the city. It is said the Hutchinson Family Singers are credited with founding the town in November 1855. It is said Hutchinson MN has the nation’s second oldest park system, second only to Central Park in New York City. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.8 square miles and a population of 13,080 at the 2000 census. Hutchinson, Minnesota is the largest city in McLeod County with a population projected to be approximately 14,600 by 2010.
